Reiki Levels And Certification
Shoden
In Shoden (traditional Reiki level 1), you will learn the history of Reiki, Reiki principles, and all the essential techniques of hands-on Reiki practice. You will receive three Reiju (attunements) during the Shoden seminar.
Okuden
In Okuden (traditional Reiki level 2), we will dive deeper into the practice of Reiki, connecting to Reiki for mental blocks, emotional challenges, and bad habits, as well as self-Reiki and distance Reiki. You will receive two Reiju during Okuden.
Jikiden Reiki Practitioner Certification
Upon successful completion of Okuden, you will receive an authentic traditional Japanese Certificate from the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Japan.

Learn Shoden (Level 1) Reiki Class With Laurie Chambers, RN!
Complete the first step of Reiki training by learning Shoden with Laurie Chambers, RN a certified Jikiden Reiki Shihan-Kaku (Shoden teacher).
In just two days you will learn the essentials of Reiki and will be able to give hands-on Reiki to yourself and others!

After Your Training:
Join Practice Meetings:
Your Jikiden Reiki certification allows you to join our weekly practice and monthly review with Reiju. This is where you get to experience true apprenticeship-type learning with your teacher. All students (even those who have been practicing Reiki for many years) are encouraged to attend.
After at least 6 months of practice, you can apply for teacher training as an "assistant teacher" or Shihan-Kaku. Those seminars are only conducted a few times a year (you may need to travel to Japan or another location to attend). Further Reiki training is available for dedicated students.
Continue Your Reiki Path:
It is typical for traditional Japanese practices, including martial and healing arts to have distinct levels of training and to follow the Iemoto system. The same is true for traditional Japanese Reiki.
In Jikiden Reiki, completing Shoden and Okuden allows one to become a practitioner of Reiki. There are also several teacher levels:
- Shihan-Kaku is a beginner teacher who can teach Shoden
- Shihan is a master instructor who can teach Shoden and Okuden
- Dai-Shihan is an expert instructor who can teach Shoden, Okuden, and Shihan-Kaku
- DaiHyo is the main representative of the lineage and can teach all levels
While Reiki energy is the same regardless of the level of training, each level contains more depth of understanding and additional honor and responsibility.
